Borough market is home to a plethora of succulent meats, cheeses, nuts, cakes, lollies, seafood, chocolates and wine. I am sure I have missed a host of other delicious gastronomical sensations, but nothing seems to beat the slow cooked Salted Beef Sandwich.
I had the great joy of indulging in my very first Salted Beef Sandwich at London's Borough Market and I have never looked back. A good version of this English favourite includes pickles, salted beef (that literally falls apart in your mouth) and Dijon mustard in a soft multigrain bun.
I have done some research into the perfect Salted Beef Sandwich and many articles say that it is important that the beef is cooked to its key perfection point. Too little and it will be tough, too much and it will be dry. It is safe to say that Borough Markets does it well.
The service is quick, and for £6 you are truly getting a bargain. The best way to wash down this salty food from the Gods is with an icy cold Becks or Coca Cola.
