Cocoa Heaven on a Olympus

As you have probably guessed by the name, Salon du Chocolat is originally an event hosted in France. This year, however, the world's largest chocolate show is coming to London for the first time. Between the 18th & 20th October, the Olympia National Hall will be the place to cure your chocolate cravings.

Exhibitors will include the best UK and international companies, such as Artisan du Chocolat, Paul a Young, Rococo, Hotel Chocolat, Paul Wayne Gregory, Marc Demarquette, Divine, Prestat, Lindt, Valrhona, Pralus, and Bonnat. There will also be demonstrations, talks, sculptures, and even a fashion show.

I always knew chocolate was stylish, but Salon du Chocolat takes things to a whole new level. Models will not only be fashioning designs inspired by chocolate, but wearing outfits literally made of the stuff. It's a good thing the show is taking place in autumn.

Sample the finest truffles, milkiest drinks, and exquisite cuisine all made from something as simple as a cacao bean. If you would like to make wonderful dishes of your own, then there is a full schedule lined up that will teach you how. Professional cooks, bakers, and chocolatiers such as Marc Demarquette, Eric Lanlard, and John Whaite, a winner from the Great British Bake Off will whip up delights in the chocolate theatre. Learn how to make marble tart, choux buns, macarons, salted caramel fig pudding, and even an upmarket Bounty Bar. You can get hands on at a pastry course, and there are also a number of culinary workshops for children to take part in.

In the Tasting Room you will learn how to detect the subtle notes and flavour from in different cacao, and find out which chocs match best with certain wines.

Tickets can be bought at the for 18 or 12 for children, but you will get a discount if you book in advance.
