Enjoy a free night at the opera

The Royal Opera House presents three free screenings of live opera and ballet this summer with BP Big Screens 2015.

Pack a picnic and spend an evening outdoors watching one of these popular classics at Trafalgar Square, Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf and Lyric Square, Hammersmith, or at one of the other BP Big Screen Venues listed here.

Puccini's La Bohème, set in the romantic city of Paris, telling the poignant tale of penniless poet Rodolfo and his love for the ailing Mimi, opens the BP Big Screen Season on Wednesday 10 June.

Mozart's tragi-comic Don Giovanni screens on Friday 3 July, following the charismatic anti-hero on his travels through Europe as he seduces a string of women.

Kenneth Macmillan's adaptation of the story of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet is set to a scintillating score by Prokofiev and performed by the Royal Ballet on 22 September.

All three events begin with an introductory screening at 7pm, followed by the performance at 7.30pm.
