Did you know there is an art society entirely devoted to the medium of watercolours? Te Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours aims to promote and encourage watercolour painting, and holds annual exhibitions of their members' work. This year's exhibition is at #overview ">The Mall Galleries between the 2nd-19th April. It will be opened by Dr Alan Powers, who is the joint editor of the journal Twentieth Century Architecture and Chairman of Pollocks Toy Museum in London.

It will feature both members, and a few carefully selected non-members from the society, who have been focussing on the theme of gardens and gardening. Entry to the gallery is just £3 or £2.50 concessions, and once inside, you can view almost four hundred paintings, and participate numerous free events . These will include live painting demonstrations, tours, and a chance to chat with the artists and look t their sketch books.
