As the cost-of-living crisis makes it harder for people to access the arts, the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire has announced one of the most extensive and affordable concert series in Birmingham. From lunchtime recitals and early evening jazz gigs to family operas, theatre productions and experimental new work, the range of concerts is as large as it is eclectic. Audiences can even enjoy the Arctic Monkeys’ greatest hits played by a brass ensemble.

Performances take place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire on Jennens Road, in the centre of Birmingham, as well as other locations around the city. But the emphasis throughout the programme is affordability, with many concerts, including a regular Monday lunchtime series, being completely free and most of the rest having a top ticket price of £15.

Stephen Maddock OBE, Principal of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, says: “In my first year as Principal, I’m delighted we are able to present such an eclectic mix of live performances, with our brilliant students appearing alongside established professionals to inspire audiences of all ages. If you haven’t found your way to our magnificent new building, I hope that the sheer variety and quality of what’s on offer will encourage you to make your first visit.”
