If you are currently in London, you may be facing two problems. Firstly, the total inability to move anywhere quickly due to an overwhelming number of people descending on the capital, and secondly, if you're not a sports fan, then you are ever so slightly in trouble over the next month or so.
However, salvation can be found by visiting somewhere lovely and peaceful; the RAF Museum. If you are in London for the Olympics or simply want to visit then this is the perfect day out for the family. All generations will love the the aircrafts that are on site, and with over 100 of them everyone will find something of interest to them.
There is the opportunity to learn, enjoy and intrigue in equal measure. You have the chance to soak up the atmosphere in a museum that commemorates one of the finest institutions the United Kingdom has ever produced. You will see the only life size model in the world of a F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Jet. You can relive the historic moment that Winston Churchill gave the "Battle of Britain" speech, and learn about all of the hero's that have given their lives throughout the history of the R.A.F.
To keep the children interested, there is also the chance to take a ride in the two flight simulators. You can take a trip with the red arrows or take part in a flight demonstration in a Eurofighter Typhoon. If however you are more of a history buff, then you can fly in a World War I dog fight.
The museum is a short 30 minute train ride from London and all you have to do is hop on the Northern Line and get off at Colindale Station. This is the perfect day out for the family, and on top off all of this, it's free! So if you take a trip to Grahame Park Way you wont be disappointed.
