It's Friday night, you've been out for a while, and the bars are just about to close - but...
...you don't want to go home yet - what can you do?
Simple, follow me - and let me take you to
The Roxy ...
The Roxy is one of those places I love, the type you walk past day in, day out and don't even notice it's there - that is until after dark, when it springs into life - the lights of the basement beckoning you down the stairs and into party central.
For those who want to beat the crowds - the bar opens at 5pm, so it is the perfect place to slowly start letting your hair down. Come 10pm (9pm on a Saturday), you'll be ready to get your groove on as the club nights kick into action - and don't stop until the wee small hours (usually just South of 3am, though it stays open a little bit later weekend nights).
So - what to expect...
Well...first of all, there's
something going on nearly every night of the week (Sunday is the only day your dancing shoes will get a bit of peace) - with nights ranging from indie to electro, hip hop to dubstep, and pop taking over at the weekends.
You'll obviously get thirsty, dancing does that to you of course - don't worry, there is a pretty
comprehensive list of drinks to quench that thirst - from craft beers to cocktails (with a happy hour early doors for the more frugal early birds - or those who are really eager for the weekend). There are even little nibbles available during the bar hours, for those who want to take in some sustenance before the dancing begins...
Exposed brickwork, leather seats, wooden floors and most importantly, good times are what will greet you once you've descended those steps into the basement - so descend you must - see you on the dancefloor...
