There are many Italian restaurants to be found in and around London, probably due to the enduring love affair Londoners seem to have with all things Italian - remember there is even a place in North London called Little Venice.

If you are a little more discerning when it comes to your choice of Italian eatery however, let me give you a recommendation - Rossopomodoro.

Rossopomodoro is a pleasant chain of restaurants which creates all its dishes from fine ingredients sourced from Napoli and its surrounding areas. The menu is made up of traditional recipes of Neapolitan origin, and many of the ingredients used to make them can be seen around the restaurants, on proud display. The Covent Garden location I visited had in prime location a wood burning pizza stove, something all locations are rumoured to also have.

Some highlights from the menu have to be the Raviolo, ravioli filled with buffalo ricotta, the Casandrinella (a calzone filled with mozzarella, ham and buffalo ricotta which is very more-ish), and one of the nicest Tiramisu's I've ever tasted.

So should you fancy a pizza, some pasta, or just a nice coffee - why not head on down to your nearest "Red Tomato" (that's what the restaurant name means), then relax the Neapolitan way.
