All this time you thought car parks were for parking cars. Fools. You've been tricked by a cunning, yet misleading name. What car parks are really used for is deep meditative thought, sun bathing, and getting fit.
At least the one in Peckham is anyway.
It is time to abandon your dreary looking gym, and find beauty at Peckham's disused car park on Rye Lane. Climb the steps through a maze of Bold Tendencies sculptures until you reach the rooftop, where you will get a fantastic view of London, and a little bit of yoga to go with it.
There are three weekly classes to choose from, that run until the 26th October. Places are £10, and bookings be made in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 07751520889.
Dru Yoga Saturdays, 10am - 11am
Lucy teaches Dru Yoga, a slow, flowing form that helps you to feel stretched, grounded, and calm. It is suitable for all abilities, but particularly useful for those who are stressed or recovering from n injury.
Vinyasa Flow Sundays, 10am - 11am
Tania teaches Vinyasa Yoga, a dynamic form that harmonises your breath and movement to give strength and grace. It is a challenging style with fast flowing poses and calming breath work.
Rocket on the Roof Mondays, 7pm-8pm
Jiva teaches Rocket Yoga, a fast-moving form that uses a dynamic sequence of poses. It is meant to leave you feeling energised.
All yoga ends with savasana relaxation pose, which is a good chance to soak up the sun with a sneaky sunbathe.
