We all love to go to the cinema but with the beautiful days that are arriving, you do not really want to lock yourself in a dark cinema, instead of enjoying the light of the fine weather. Good news, in London it is possible to go to the cinema outside at !
Imagine, a gentle breeze at the end of the day caresses your face on your deck chair, the sun sets and leaves a starlit night, while you are watching one of your favorite movies. Yes, you are at the movies, but outside. This concept has developed quite a lot in London, and now, more than one outdoor cinema exists.
There are in total four rooftops where you can experience outdoor cinema until the end of September:
- The rooftop of the "Bussey Building" in Peckham
- The rooftop of the "Queen of Hoxton" in Shoreditch
- The rooftop of the "Roof East" in Stratford
- The rooftop of the gardens of "Kensington Roof Gardens".
The films usually start at sunset, and you will really find everything from films released recently to older ones. Some cinemas have wireless headsets to enjoy the experience (as in Startford). It is advisable to arrive at least 15 minutes before the session, and it is possible to buy food and drink. Here is a small selection of upcoming movies:
Lala Land, Top Gun, Moonlight, Moana, Back to the Future, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Lion, Jackie, Lost in Translation, Get Out, Dirty Dancing, and more.
The price of a single ticket is £15, but in Peckham and Stratford, you also have the option of a "love seat", which is a lounge chair with two seats, for the price of £25. These cinemas have everything for a luxury cinema experienceWith the "love seat" you get unlimited popcorn, a drink (prosecco, beer or wine), a cushion and more room for the legs! Some cinemas even offer blankets, but first come, first served!
