Rococo Coffee House

The fact that this is an independent coffee house gives it an edge. It is central enough to become your regular, yet concealed enough not to be heaving with customers during peak hours, as is the case with certain popular coffee house chains. (Let's face it, however much you think you're craving that double-whipped-frappa-mocha-doo-dar with an extra expresso shot, the queue of fifteen people all requesting equally overcomplicated orders is rarely worth the wait.)
Rococo however, offers a refreshing alternative. Residing directly in front of the world-renowned
Cavern Club it is the perfect coffee house hideout, which could easily go unnoticed to the naked eye if you didn't already know it was there. Reminiscing back to my student days, this coffee house is the perfect setting. Based on the first floor it's ideal for grabbing a quick panini and people-watching by the window overlooking Liverpool One. Alternatively it's a great retreat for when you want to indulge in a long leisurely lunch with the family.
For the caffeine crazed among us, you won't leave disappointed. You'll find yourself spoilt for choice with the range of speciality lattes, flavoured espressos and frothed up classics on offer. Hot or cold, Rococo has it covered, offering everything right down to a 'babychino' for the little ones!
For me, what makes this place unique is that it remains humble and quaint with a good atmosphere, yet manages to offer a sense of grandeur with its interior. With its modern take on a baroque theme, the larger rooms towards the back adorned with plush sofas and fireplaces even make it a great date spot.
So next time you're in need of a caffeine fix, why not check out something different? The fact that you're supporting a local, independent trader in the process should make the venture even sweeter.
