Riverhills Spa in Ipswich is the ultimate place to escape, unwind and enjoy some unforgettable pampering treatments. Away from the stresses of everyday life, this stunning spa is situated in a beautiful Georgian house in an idyllic countryside setting.



With an array of indulgent packages to choose from it can be a difficult decision choosing what to fit into one day. The therapeutic and rejuvenating face & body treatments are all carried out using the first-class Germaine de Capuccini products, which contain only the finest ingredients. You can also choose from a wide range of traditional and ritualistic massage treatments from around the world as well as nail treatments, waxing, electrolysis, tinting and universal contour wraps.



Throughout the year, the spa has many offers such as half price treatments, buy one get one free on mother's day and many other special packages. It is therefore advisable to check the website to see what deals there are before booking your treatments. I can strongly recommend "Just the 2 of Us" and the "Riverhills Classic Spa Day", which are great packages to share with someone special. Throughout your visit you will have full use of the beautiful swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room and aromatherapy room. You will also have a delicious lunch, depending on what package you choose and will receive the luxurious Riverhills robe, slippers and towel hire for the day. A bonus is that you get to take the slippers home too!



Arriving at the spa you are warmly welcomed and shown around the spa so that you can easily find your way around throughout the day. You will then receive your robe and slippers for the day along with your locker key. You can wear your robe and slippers all day around the spa, including at lunch, so you can completely relax during your stay.



Before you start your treatments you will be asked to choose what you would like for lunch. The food served here is delicious and the presentation is at an extremely high standard. I can strongly recommend the prawn cocktail for starter and the Caesar salad or burger for the main course. Sides are £3 each and if you have only booked one course as part of your package you can add another for only £5.50, depending on the dish. The chocolate brownie and coffees on offer are also the perfect way to finish off your afternoon of pampering. On a summer's day there is seating outside overlooking the countryside, where you can enjoy a glass of bubbly, afternoon tea or a light snack.
















During my visit, the therapists and the rest of the staff at the spa were extremely welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you are completely happy and relaxed. Depending on how busy the spa is they are even happy to change appointments if you are running late. It is however recommended that you arrive 30 minutes early before your first appointment so you can choose your lunch, be shown around the spa and settle in. Whilst receiving a treatment the beauty therapists are very friendly and are happy to make recommendations on skincare products suitable for your skin type before you leave. The treatment rooms are well presented and tranquil so that you instantly feel relaxed from when you first walk in.




The pool area is the ideal place to relax in between treatments. The poolside boasts a hot Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and relaxation/aromatherapy room. The facilities at the pool are very clean and the steam room, sauna and relaxation room even have warm lighting on the ceiling to add to the tranquillity. I suggest bringing your favourite book or magazine so that you can unwind and forget your troubles using the sun loungers around the poolside.
