Little Venice in London is known for its canals, houseboats and Regency architecture but this weekend the
Regent's Canal Festival is set to bring a little piece of Italy to Maida Vale with street performers, Italian food and on the 14th and 15th of July, a chance to ride in an Italian Gondola.
This year, the local festival is celebrating 200 years since Regent's Canal was approved by an Act of Parliament in 1812.
Art installations, stalls and events are planned on the 8-mile waterway with boat trips from Little Venice and Islington Tunnel, music at Camden, a market at City Road Basin and art at Mile End Park.
