Hear the voice of an angel in beautiful Lichfield
'People's Soprano' Rebecca Newman has been gearing up for her concert in Lichfield by trying her hand at busking in the city's main shopping centre.
To warm up for her forthcoming show at the Lichfield Garrick theatre, Rebecca took time off from her tour with fellow opera singer Russell Watson to perform an impromptu concert in the city's main Three Spires Shopping Centre.
She gave shoppers an unexpected treat on Thursday 2 July to showcase songs from her debut album 'Dare to Dream'.
Affectionately named 'The People's Soprano' by fans and the media, singer-songwriter Rebecca Newman stormed to number one in the Official UK Classical Albums Chart with her debut album release in September 2014.
Her chart topping 'Dare to Dream' release was named after her own song that embodies the spirit of her musical career.
The album, which perfectly showcases Rebecca's beautiful voice, has helped secure her position as one of the most exciting sopranos the UK has seen for a long time.
The People's Soprano appearing at Lichfield Garrick on July 16
Rebecca is currently touring with the UK's biggest selling classical artist, the tenor Russell Watson, on his Up Close and Personal Tour, which began in March and runs until July 2015.
Before her chart success, she had already sold more than 15,000 albums as an independent artist, headlined her own 20 date UK tour, appeared on national television, sung the national anthems live at several international televised sporting events, and shared the stage with stars like Russell Watson and Aled Jones.
Rebecca will be supported in her show at Lichfield Garrick by 'Classical Reflection', which is made up of identical twins Naomi and Hannah who were among the stars of this year's BBC hit talent show 'The Voice'.
Rebecca Newman and Classical Reflection are at the Lichfield Garrick on Thursday 16 July 2015 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £23, can be booked online at www.lichfieldgarrick.com or by calling Lichfield Garrick's Box Office on 01543 412121.
