Welcome to an original....

I have been in London a long, long time - and this place has been here as long as I have - and probably before that too (well actually since 1993). Long before the fashions for retro clothes, and 1920's glamour there was Radio Days...

So what's special about it? Well, probably the first thing you see is the most special - the amazing Radio Days window displays. If you haven't seen them, take a look . The effort put in and the ingenuity of dressing what is actually a rather small area is pretty impressive, and more than worthy of your attention for this alone. Of course, this would be doing what is going on in side a disservice though - so let's push on through the door...

Upon entering you will find racks of hard to find and vintage wear, covering everything from the current vogue of 1920's glamour, through the flower power era of the '60's, up to the gloriously kitsch 1980's. You won't just find clothes either. There are accessories galore - including old perfumes and scents, cocktail accessories, old magazines and even vintage technology such as phones and stereo equipment.

There's plenty to look at and enjoy , and again, you will be amazed by the organisation of the space inside, but you will probably be even more surprised by the cost - it is a lot more reasonable than you would probably think, especially when comparing to stores of a similar type.

I recommend when deciding on when to visit to keep a few things in mind - first, bring a camera to snap their latest amazing window creation - then second, your wallet to snap up some of the goodies available inside. And third? I would say a smile - but you won't need it, as after visiting here you will leave the store with one...
