A Jam In A Jar

I love places that have one name, yet people know them as another. Take for example this rather lovely little bar on Green Lanes in Harringay. The official name is , yet I remember it slightly differently as the QWERTY bar.
The reason? Well, just take a look at the picture - the random collection of oversized typewriter keys that make up the signage for the bar lead to this obvious conclusion, do they not?
Ok, whether you agree with me on this or not, this is simply a great bar to check out - here's why...
It's not just a bar, but a multi-purpose venue - the space acts as a music venue for the local jazz, blues and jam performers (that's the jam in the bar's title by the way). As well as this the venue acts as an art gallery, and a performance space - so everything you could possibly want from a bar then...
...well obviously there is the drink element to consider too, and of course they have this covered. There are cocktails, beer on tap and wine in bottles to be sampled - not a massive selection, but adequate. There is also a selection of food to try, including burgers you may struggle to finish, thanks to the size of them.
It has started to draw large crowds, so beware, you need to get there early in preparation to even manage to get yourself a good spot in the venue. Also, this is the reason I'm telling you about it now - as the venue will be closed for a couple of weeks for refurbishment - enough time for you to plan your visit and get yourself there before the crowds - honestly, you won't regret it.
