We all had our fun with pancakes, wacky outfits and mortal races, but now it's time for doughnuts, fancy costumes and Slovenian masks. No, it's not some sort of Policemen Carnival - in case they don't get enough fun in Notting Hill - but a take on the traditional Slovenian Shrove Tuesday Carnival, Pust. But here in London we celebrate the event with a Masquerade Party on Saturday, March 8th.
Hopefully you didn't give up carbs for lent, but if you did, you can dance the extra calories from the doughnuts away to the music by a famous Slovenian singer, Zoran Predin, and his band, plus a DJ with international repertoire of music. Apart from doughnuts, you'll have the chance to try Slovenian food and Slovenian drinks. This is the first time ever you will get to see traditional Slovenian masks - Kurents - in the UK. A unique experience, through and through.
The tradition means that by wearing masks we are chasing the winter away and welcoming the spring, so get ready to say goodbye to the cold and win one of the many prices for best costumes. So make sure you attend this original event and be part of the fun.
General admission with a doughnut - £16.50 General admission with a doughnut and a hot meal - £22.55
