Make sure you visit HOME in Manchester for the start of this year's PUSH Festival launching on Friday 12th January 2018.

HOME is an arts organisation which showcases international contemporary art, theatre and film. At First Street, the building is home to a cinema, theatre, gallery, restaurant and bar. This week sees the start of the annual PUSH festival, a two-week showcase for artists in the North West to display their work.

The festival is in association with Auto Trader and is an annual event. It has become a popular programme of events in the city with its emphasis on celebrating and sharing work from artists in the region. The North is a haven for artistic talent with many amazing creations being made in the city. This festival is a chance to discover new creatives and see the future of the arts industry.

The festival includes dramatic theatre performances, workshops, exhibitions and screenings. It is a truly unique event incorporating all of the art forms which HOME is able to show in the impressive contemporary arts centre. However, this isn't just your chance to see other people's work, the festival includes events to meet professionals in the arts to learn, discuss work and share ideas. The idea is to allow new talent to develop and gain inspiration from those already working in this industry. This is great for new artists and students who want to learn more about how to share their work. There are various events during the festival so please visit the box office for more information on ticket prices.

The festival includes:
  • A free performance from the Manchester International Roots Orchestra
  • Four new works commissioned by HOME
  • A series of plays from Monkeywood Theatre
  • Readings from the award-winning Box of Tricks Theatre Company
  • Screening of the documentary The Acting Class

  • The festival is a great chance for local artists to share their work and is a platform for emerging talent who may not otherwise be able to share their creations. It is also the perfect opportunity for those considering working in the field to learn and network. Theatre, film and art are difficult areas to become established in, this is where the PUSH festival is aiming to break barriers and help new talent start their journeys.

The PUSH festival runs from Friday 12th January 2018 until Saturday 27th January 2018 make sure you don't miss out.
