[SECTION]PICK YOUR PERFECT PUMPKIN[/SECTION]
Need to procure your perfect pumpkin for Halloween? You have until 4pm on the 31st October to get down to Bath Pumpkin Patch! Just outside Bath at Pennyquick roundabout you will see a sea of orange (and mud), where you can park up, procure a pumpkin, then take it home and carve it to your heart's content. The patch is well organised with marshalls, free parking and plenty of space, but be warned, this place is MUDDY! Wellies and warm clothes are an essential here, as the mud is EPIC! We loved it today, and getting messy was all part of the fun.
You can roam at will when seeking out your dream pumpkin, and you pay for your produce at the end. We opted for a red toboggan to transport our ghoulish goodies, but you can also use a wheelbarrow to trundle through the field. There are pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, but more than enough of the good old round, orange lantern type.
Once you locate your prize pumpkin, then why not work out its category with the pumpkin sorter? These orange wonders are very good value for money. We left with four decent-sized fellows and a tiddler, and they cost us £15. Well worth the sticky, creative carving mayhem to come!
[SECTION]PICK UP A PUMPKIN SQUASH OR A COFFEE BOOST[/SECTION]
You may well want to refuel after your pumpkin quest. There is a great coffee van here, and local Newton Farm bacon and sausage baps to restore your strength. The weather is decidedly rainy over the next few days, so it is good to know that the van is there.
This is a very quirky activity and comes with use of a stainless steel wheelbarrow included in the experience. We used ours as an anchor as we sludged through the fields, but it was very handy to store our pumpkins as we searched.
[SECTION]PICTURE PERFECT WITCHES AND PIGGIES[/SECTION]
Why not visit the pumpkin piggies before you depart. There were ten little piggies and their mother on show when we visited today. They looked ost intrigued by all of the humans, slogging it through the mud.
We thought the visit was worth it for the laughter alone. The pumpkins were a bonus really, but we are most excited to make four spooky lanterns. Hurry on down, because there are only 3 more days to go and claim yours before Halloween arrives!
