Primrose Bakery

London is a city that shares my love of sweet things, especially cakes. I love cupcakes, tarts, croissants and macrons. Essentially any delightful creation you find in a bakery, I will most likely have drooled over.
My love of sweet things took me by surprise when I was walking through wealthy Primrose Hill. I came across a cute 50's inspired bakery called , located on Gloucester Avenue.
The immediate attraction was not the aromas inside, but the gorgeous white marshmallow cupcake that was elevated in the front window with speckles of fluorescent hot pink edible glitter. What an enticing visual for a sweet toothed addict.
I entered into the store all set to try the treat in the window, but then succumbed to an old favourite with a twist:
The Salted Caramel Cupcake. The twist: melted and cooled chocolate and caramel at the base.
I came to the conclusion that I had made the right decision as my cupcake was fluffy and the icing was buttery-sweet and salty. Cutting through the thick icing, the fluffy cake and hitting the compressed caramel chocolate provided a great mix of textures and flavours that went so well together.
A friend decided on the
Flourless Chocolate Cake that was equally as appetising and surprisingly not dry, which can be the case with some flourless cakes.
Not only were the cupcake and flourless cake winners in our books, but the ambience in the venue was cosy. The cakes at are that good you won't even look up from your plate. I know I didn't, Even when
Little Britain celeb David Walliams and his model wife Lara Stone made an appearance to indulge in some naughty treats.
I definitely know where my next birthday cake will be coming from.
