Forty years of gaming – 160 consoles

If you're a keen gamer, get ready to enjoy a hands-on experience at the Science Museum this summer. Power UP is an interactive event featuring a selection of the most popular video games from the past 40 years. From old faithfuls like Pong and Pacman to more recent favourites Lego and Halo, there's something for everyone – beginners, experts, multi-players and retro fans alike.

The event runs from Friday 22 July - Sunday 7 August at the Science Museum in Exhibition Road, South Kensington. There are four daily 90 minute session times to choose from at 11.00, 12.45, 14.30 and 16.15. Adult tickets are priced £8, with concessions and family tickets also available.

Dedicated gamers may prefer to get an all-day pass, which gives entry to all four sessions, priced £28 for adults, or £23.50 for concessionary tickets. (Call 0207 942 4000 to book.)

Science Museum Lates on 27 July offers shorter 60 minute sessions for a fiver. These tickets are for over 18's only. Evening sessions will also be held on 29 July, 30 July and 5 August from 19.00–22.00, priced £12, for over 18's only.

Check out the Gift Shop for geeky gaming gifts, from a £3 circuit board coaster to a £130 DIY computer kit.
