Its Saturday. If you're anything like me, you get bored doing the same old things, week in week out.

I cannot recommend a visit to Portobello Market enough.

When I first moved to London, I met a friend who, like me, wanted to see what the fuss was about. We travelled by tube to Notting Hill Gate, where the market is clearly signposted.

Yes, it is very busy and can cause a bit of a headache if you're even the slightest bit hungover but the best thing about it is, once you get there you melt into the crowds. I have made so many purchases in Portobello and they have become some of my most prized possessions!

It doesn't matter what you are into, they have something to accommodate for everyone. Zoe (my friend and I) would normally visit the world famous Humingbird bakery on route back down the market because they do the most amazing chocolate fudge brownies.

Next up - Sunday markets.
