Quick Austen's on sale
Clear some space on your shelves and head to the historic Portico Library for their fundraising book fair to get your hands on classic, antiquarian and rare books priced from only 2.

It's little events like these that make my heart sing, where you get your hands on originals. Even the hand me downs that have been passed from person to person, the pages fingered by eager hands, keen to read the next line, hence it's rather frayed appearance, are desirable.

You only get to know about these sort of events if you keep your ear to the ground, and know someone, so it's with joy that I let you in on the secret. Classic novels can fetch a high price on the high street, and even online, but it's the same story, and that's why they're so coveted. The same story in a leather bound case, or hardback can seem elevated compared to the paperbacks, but why pay more when you're reading the same narrative?

In favour of recycling, Portico Library are clearly savvy folk, and know the value of a book good, no matter what condition it's in. Go when it's quiet and you might get a little tour.
