Go on an Awesome Adventure
It's spring, it's the holidays, and the kids need something to do. Enter, stage left, the Polka Theatre, with over a dozen workshops for children of all ages. Places cost between 10-30.

0-5 Years Old

First up is The Pop Up Tea Room on the 28th March. It is the only cafe to serve art instead of food. From the menu you can order stories, letters, songs, words, dance, art, and tea, all of which will be provided by some very talented waiters. Then on the 8th April, there will be a Nursery Rhyme, Story Time, Music Mix.

From the 16th April, they can become bouncing bunnies in a bumper workshop full of Easter themed crafts and play. Alternatively, get into the groove with Ocean Motion from the 22nd April.

Finally, on the 27th May, enjoy a Spring Sing Song in a musical storytelling workshop.

6-11 Years Old

Slightly older children can also put a Spring in their Step, and learn a dance routine from a professional choreographer on the 9th April. The next day, jokers will be able to learn slapstick comedy in a Physically Funny workshop. Or maybe they are more interested in theatre sets. Learn how costumes and stage designs are put together with Miniature Theatre Model Box Making on the 15th April. Then go on an Awesome Adventure on the 17th April, as either a hero or villain.

This will be followed by a ten week Create and Perform course starting from the 23rd April. For 85 kids will create their own play, from the characters and plot to the costumes and props.

If your kids love musicals, a West End Workout will have them singing and dancing to their favourite tunes.

10-13 Years Old

Big kids can work with a professional theatre director on the 11th April, learning how to act and direct their own play. On the 13th April they can also get professional acting advice, learn acting techniques, and perform short scenes in an Acting Up workshop.
