The concept of combining two Italian restaurant staples such as a bolognese and a wood fired pizza together could only be the aftermath of pure magicians! In London we call these magicians the chefs that work at Pizza Express.
Pizza Express has a jaw dropping pizza called the Polpette Bolognese Pizza (spiced Bolognese sauce, beef meatballs, fiery roquito peppers, mozzarella, rocket and grana padano), which is the size of a New York style pizza, but without the over matured cheese and excessive grease.
Pizza Express is a franchise, however the quality of food makes you quite quickly forget this fact. The beauty of the atomic spread of Pizza Express is that no matter where you are in the UK you can happily find one at your disposal.
Now back to the phenomenal pizza at hand: the Polpette Bolognese Pizza. The moment this pizza comes out to your table you will be blown away by the size, it is definitely one to share between friends. On a thin base and coated with a Bolognese salsa, spicy meat balls placed strategically across the palatial pizza, topped with peppery rocket and shavings of Parmesan you cannot go wrong. The burst of flavour this will have on your taste buds after the first bite is priceless.
Head over to Pizza Express and try it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
