Maak Contemporary Ceramics is dedicated to ceramic art of the 20th and 21st centuries. They hold 2 auctions a year offering a broad selection of ceramic works, including leading names in the field, from the early traditionalist potters such as Bernard Leach to contemporary ceramic artist Edmund de Waal. From 19 to 22 May 2014, they will present their auction of works by the leading names in British Studio Ceramics including Bernard Leach, Shoji Hamada, Michael Cardew, Katharine Pleydell-Bouverie, Norah Braden, Ladi Kwali, James Tower, Lucie Rie, Hans Coper, Ruth Duckworth, Ewen Henderson, Gordon Baldwin, Elizabeth Fritsch, John Maltby, John Ward, Kate Malone, Jennifer Lee, Alev Siesbye, Richard Slee, Rupert Spira and many others. Today Maak Contemporary Ceramics is the only organisation in the UK to hold regular auctions dedicated to this field. The exhibitions also offer a rare chance for the public to see good representative examples of the very best in international and British Studio Ceramics.
