Pop-up ping-pong craze hits Croydon
Ping Croydon! is a free festival of table tennis bouncing into action this summer. Bats and balls are supplied: just find a free table, grab a bat and start playing!
As well as free-play, each table features 'Random Acts of Ping Pong' – a varied programme of master classes, competitions and free-to-join activities.
These include Ping at the Platform, a weekly competition held at The Platform, Ruskin Square, every Thursday from 25 June until 20 August from 12.30-13.30.
Players can choose from one of 15 tables at locations including the Whitgift Centre, Centrale shopping centre, Queen's Gardens, Matthews Yard, off Surrey Street, and Croydon Sports Arena in South Norwood. Check out the downloadable Ping! Croydon map for a full list of locations.
Ping Croydon! is part of a nationwide scheme being delivered by Table Tennis England in conjunction with local authorities and a wide range of cultural partnerships, and is funded by Sport England.
