Tucked away on the quaint and somewhat hidden Bicester High Street is this traditional family run Italian restaurant,
Piccolo Amore Restaurant. It is a 15-20 metre stroll away from the well-known designer outlet Bicester Village and well worth the journey.
When I ordered the spaghetti bolognese the waiter attentively suggested that I opt for the tagliatelle – and I am glad I did. Moments later I was enjoying a truly tradition bolognese and sipping a lovely red wine. The restaurant has put together a limited but lovely wine selection.
Upon the recommendation of the friendly waiter, my sister ordered the sea food risotto accompanied with a glass of dry rose. Again, both were lovely.
To keep with the theme, we rounded off by sharing a tiramisu which was rich, delicious and plentiful.
The evening ended with a round of complimentary limoncello. I can't fault the service.
I would highly recommend making the trip to this restaurant if you are visiting Bicester and want to avoid the usual chain restaurants that cater to tourists.
