Spend your weekend with some robots at the Museum of Science and Industry.
Pi:(Platform for Investigation) is a monthly event where technological research in Manchester and around the North West is exhibited and shared with local residents and visitors. This month, it is the turn of the University of Sheffield to share the latest innovations. Coming to the Museum of Science and Industry are some friendly robots for you to play with. Come and meet the MiRo bots and see how these cute robots have been made and what they are used for. This is your chance to have a go at coding and there is even a chance to programme a Nao which is a tiny robot which walks, talks and even dances. This is a fun activity perfect for the whole family. Children will love the chance to play with robots. Come along for your chance to meet some futuristic toys. This is a great place to see and learn everything there is to know about robots - it is a chance to see behind the scenes of how robots are programmed, built and developed.
The event takes place at the museum in the purpose-built area. This is a monthly activity where research centres have the opportunity to showcase their work. The dedicated space has computers, large experiment tables and all the equipment needed. This is a great place to take part in demonstrations and experiments whilst learning about new technology from scientists. This is a great event for both children and adults but the recommended age is 8 years old and older. Find the event on the ground floor of the museum.
The museum is a great place to visit, open daily from 10am to 5pm making it a great location for families at the weekend. With
free entry to the museum, this makes the perfect place for a day trip.
Taking place on
Saturday 20th January 2018 between
10.30am-3.30pm, this is the perfect weekend activity. Come along for some interactive, family fun.
