And now for one of my favourite places in London....

I DJ in London, and my favourite kind of music to DJ is electronic. The best place to find electronic music in London, in my opinion, is . Should you like the same, you really must get yourself here , simple as that.

[ADVERT]Thanks to the unstoppable rise of the MP3, people's music shopping generally involves a few clicks of a mouse and the supplying of details. It shouldn't be like that. Walking through the door of Phonica will remind you why, as the body of the room is full of shelving units stacked to busting with vinyl, and table displays of CDs to peruse too. As I said, the focus is electronic music, and many types and styles are available - from techno to electronica, dub step to hip hop, and many, many lesser known genres in between.

Should you really be stuck in your ways, the website is excellent. You can peruse most of what is available in store, and more, as well as listen to tracks online and then order or reserve. The world of the new release can be a scary one, so thankfully there are also recommendations in the form of DJ charts from the knowledgeable staff and the ever important best-seller lists .

What with t-shirts, books and other assorted goodies related to the world of underground dance music available, not to mention the fact they provide information as well as sell tickets for some of the best club nights and events in London, this is one shop I couldn't walk past even if I tried. See if it has the same affect on you.
