Do you need a new piece of furniture or a bit of wall that's looking a bit bare? Perhaps you just like browsing through the stalls and antique fairs and seeing what bibs and bobs people have brought along. You'll be able to find something at the Petersfield Antiques Fair, with 40 exhibitors offering an eclectic range of fine art, interiors and jewellery. The Petersfield Antique Fair will be held in the Festival Hall in Petersfield on Friday February 2nd until Sunday February 4th from 10:30am till 5pm.
The fair began over 40 years ago and many of the exhibitors are regulars who come every year. There is a very eclectic mix of things, with some starting around £20 and occasionally a rare piece worth upwards of £10,000.
There will be ceramics, artworks and costume jewellery alongside antique furniture, secondhand and rare books, and even one stall specialising in Ancient Japanese antiques. The full range of exhibitors is available from the Penman Fairs website, so you can have a browse to pick out the stalls most likely to catch your eye.
Don't worry about cool February weather, Cello Catering are the fair's regular caterers and they'll be cooking up a warming game casserole on the day.
Entry to the fair is free, but you can order your complimentary e-tickets online. The fair is located in the Festival Hall on Heath Road in Petersfield. It's approximately 32 miles from the Southampton City Centre and about a 45 minute drive. The fair is one of the biggest antique fairs in the South, so if you're a bit of an antique aficionado, it's worth the drive. While you're there, you may as well spend a bit of time exploring the town.
Parking is available at the fair, but spots can fill up. There will also be nearby parking available at Waitrose or Tesco. There will be information about parking on your ticket.
The February fair is the first Petersfield Antiques Fair of the year, there will be a second one in late August, running from August 31st until September 2nd. Stay tuned for more information about the August market and the exhibitors. For more details about the antiques fairs and other fairs around the UK, head to the Penman Antiques Fairs website.
