Beautifully bound books for the sophisticated London lady

Stumble upon this quaint little book store on a ramble through London's Holborn. Take a turn down Lamb's Conduit Street and uncover a row of charming independent shops, a gift buyer's dream.

Small but uncluttered, this shop is a treat for book lovers and explorers alike. Selling rediscovered 20th Century novels that have veered away from commercialism and into the insouciant world of neglected fiction, Persephone Books has proved note-worthy having been featured in Vogue, The Daily Telegraph, and as a recent Twitter search revealed, Made in Chelsea (but don't let the latter put you off.)

Pretty and thought provoking, these novels are tailored for the 21st Century woman on the go but still in dire need of a bit of romance. Also lined up neatly on the vintage wooden bookshelves are cookery books, diaries and short stories, each introduced by an original preface. Designed in a dove-grey jacket unique to the little shop itself, a book from here would make a distinct gift for any literature lover. A book from Persephone's is a stylish read indeed.
