If you live near Peckham or even if you don't, did you know you can go and see the latest film releases for £4.99 any time of day? It's an absolute bargain when you consider the big chain cinemas that charge £10.85 a pop or £17.90 if it's in central London.

cinema on Rye Lane is totally independent, which is truly rare and something the local community are very proud of. It even boasts on its sign for all to see that it's "London's Most Successful Independent Cinema." It celebrated it's twentieth anniversary last year and according to the people who work there, business is booming.



The decor is a bit loud and lairy but it's part of its appeal.

As well as showing the big blockbusters, does many community events and showcases lots of small independent films also.
