He's one of the most successful composers and performers of all time, he has written or co-written 32 songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100. Paul's honours include two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of the Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 1999), 18 Grammy Awards, an appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1965, and a knighthood in 1997 for services to music.
Showcasing previously unseen material from his personal archive, handwritten lyrics and photographs spanning McCartney's career will reveal the process and people behind some of the most famous songs of all time. From his earliest compositions through legendary decades of The Beatles and Wings and his solo albums.
Paul McCartney: The Lyrics accompanies McCartney's new book
The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present, which recounts his life and art through the prism of 154 songs from all stages of his career.
Additional lyrics by The Beatles can be seen in the Sir John Ritblat Gallery: Treasures of the British Library.
