If you live in High Barnett then you might have met Pamela, your borough's local hairdresser. This glamour gal runs her own salon, and has ambitions of becoming a famous celebrity stylist. With clients such as Cynthia, however, it is something of a pipe dream. At the moment Pam feels like the only future ahead of her is adhering to the unfashionable wishes of the blue rinse brigade.

In an attempt to make dreams a reality, Pamela sometimes ventures out from her salon and takes to the stage. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of visiting her salon, you will yet to have engaged in the delightful chit chat, gossip, and rants, Pam feels obliged to share. Between the 29th July - 31st August, you will get that opportunity, at the Etcetera Theatre with Pamela's Permanent Wave . Part of the Camden Fringe Festival , Pam's hour-long comedy show starts at 2pm, and tickets cost £5-£6.50.

Created by character comedian, Donna Gray , Pamela is something of a cross between Bridget Jones and Shirley Valentine. Although a little deluded, she is 'head and shoulders' above the rest.
