What's your favourite superhero? This is the type of question grown men couldn't ask anybody but their closest friends for fear of being laughed at in the past. But thanks to the amount of blockbuster movies available these days, featuring everyone from The Hulk to Superman to Spiderman, being a closet comic book hero fan is nothing to be ashamed of anymore.
So, now that you feel liberated from the nay-sayers, where can you go to indulge in your passion? I go to

Walking through the door you will instantly be transported back to your youth, largely thanks to the vast array of colourful comic front pages facing you from the walls - as you walk past these you reach the heart of the comic shop - there are two small rooms on your left, one which houses, amongst other things, the
indie and limited print goodies (well worth a look). In the smaller area - a gallery of regularly changing artwork from, or inspired by, the world of comic art.
The main space is dedicated to a huge collection of back issues - the life blood of the comic collector - and there is plenty to choose from, all the regular DC and Marvel greats feature, plus less known, and to me, more interesting, characters - have you ever heard of Animal Man, Swamp Thing or Sandman, for example - well if you're intrigued, check them out.
If you're looking for something a little different, they can cater for that too - Want manga? check. Want memorabilia? check. Want events and special workshops where you can learn to draw just like the professionals - well, check and check again...
As you can see, there really is no reason not to go indulge your inner geek, and with so many ways to part with your money - be prepared to stop off at a coffee shop on the way home, as you will want to open those wrappers straight away.
