Quite simply one of the best undiscovered gems London has to offer, Oliver's is the perfect date location- cosy, quaint, unpretentious and effortlessly cool.
A cellar bar in Greenwich, offering live jazz in an intimate venue, with a regular audience, friendly staff and a good range of wines, beer and spirits.
Oliver's is open until the early hours at weekends, and with regular artists some nights and touring jazz acts on others. See the website for the latest line ups.
Located just around the corner from Greenwich Park, the entrance to this underground bar is easy to miss. It is located in a courtyard, where only a tiny door and a staircase advertise its presence.
But downstairs, it is cavernous, with frequent, fantastic jazz in the music room, and a back room with large leather sofas to relax on.
So unknown that it is rarely full, it is frequented by a friendly crowd of mostly regulars and jazz enthusiasts. Entry is free to the bar and the backroom, although there is sometimes a £5 entry charge to the music room when better-known artists are playing.
Cutty Sark DLR station and Greenwich on the mainline (served by trains from Charing Cross and London Bridge) are within easy walking distance, and it is also served by a variety of London buses and night buses.
