The Old Ship is a traditional pub centrally located in Richmond Town Centre, just by the river front. There is an abundance of pubs and bars in Richmond, and whilst the atmosphere is pleasant and the drinks are reasonably priced, the food was unfortunately lacking.

They do boost quick and polite service and play live sports but this is not the place where you'll find lager loving football louts, it is quite civilised with a pleasant atmosphere. Especially when there is large sporting event going on.

I visited with a few friends and was drawn in by the mini pie platter, although truth be told, the food was overpriced and dry, and my friends and I left feeling a little disappointed.

After reading similar reviews, it seems the The Old Ship is a more suitable place for a few drinks rather than for food, although I certainly would visit again and sit in the quaint courtyard with patio heaters.
