Music lovers are able to stroll through the back catalogue of Neil Sedaka in a lively stage show dedicated to the outstanding songwriter. Fans of Sedaka Howard 'Howie' Greenfield are in for a treat when
! comes to
Tamworth Assembly Rooms in Staffordshire on February 28.
Oh Carol! tells the story of the pair's humble beginnings in Brooklyn, New York, and their rise to superstardom in the 50s and 60s, solidifying themselves as one of the most successful musical pairings in history. The show is set to impress, having been described in various circles as a 'charming, exciting and thoroughly enjoyable waltz through the Sedaka back catalogue' and has even won the seal of approval from Neil Sedaka himself.
Neil said of the forthcoming show: "
It's always flattering when talented performers honour my music. I thank the Oh Carol! team for their homage to the work of Sedaka and Greenfield. Wishing you continued success." Damion Scarcella and Belinda Wollaston will be performing classic hits such as Calendar Girl, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen, Amarillo, Stupid Cupid, and Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, supported by a band of West End musicians. Sedaka, who was born in Brooklyn in March 1939, has sold millions of records as an artist and written or co-written more than 500 songs for himself and others, collaborating mostly with Greenfield and fellow lyricist Phil Cody.
! will take to the stage at 7.30pm on February 28, with doors opening at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £23 and £21 concessions and can be purchased online at: www.tamworthassemblyrooms.co.uk, in person at Tamworth Information Centre based in the Assembly Rooms in Corporation Street, or by calling the Box Office on 01827 709618.
