A really authentic American bar, in the East End of London

There are so many things to like about Off Broadway, I can't even begin to tell you. I first discovered it through visiting its secret cocktail bar - but fell in love with it, and visit whenever I am in the area.

Why? Well, first of all, it is a very comfortable place - with nice lighting, seating, and very friendly staff. You just feel at home here, which isn't surprising considering the bar is owned and run by members of the same family.

It is based around an East Village, New York style bar - and the drinks, which consist largely of cocktails, with some American beers thrown in for good measure, reflect that pretty well.

It is possible to find all kinds of events taking place at this L-shaped bar, usually with an American theme, hence the secret cocktail bar which was hidden behind a fake toilet in the basement room. On another occasion in the summer, there was hot dog selling through one of the open window hatches. Now it seems the current food trend here is for all things Mexican, so it could well be worthy of another trip soon.

As I said, this place is more than worthy of your attention, especially so when they host one of their famous events - so keep yours eyes peeled and experience for yourself a taste of over there, over here.
