Perhaps sometimes my articles sound like a love letter to Crouch End. Perhaps, sometimes, they are. The greatest thing about this little corner of London is the fact it mixes a village feel with countless interesting shops and cafes.
A shop that happily falls into that category is Of Special Interest, a furniture shop nestling just off the Broadway, on Park Road. Any beautiful village needs a place to buy beautiful things for beautiful houses and this place, along with its neighbour Little Paris, provides a store for elegantly designed, well-made pieces to suit any London home.
A great many of the pieces available here are ready to buy. You could pick them up and plonk them into any style feature in any glossy magazine. They also provide an excellent custom service, where they re-paint the piece, usually for free, in any colour or style, to suit your individual needs.
This shop has grown since its inception in 1988 and is now a colossus in a Crouch End corner. It adds an interesting dimension to the high street and gives me reason to window shop each time I walk past.
