Nordic - the cosy and the cool brought together
You may be led to believe that this bar simply doesn't want to be found. Relatively hidden away in a basement in a Fitzrovia side street, quite near to, well, a large post office sorting office - you get the point, it's quite easy to miss. If you do decide to make the effort however, you'll find Nordic is more than worth the effort.
First, there's the interior - which is cosily and very noticeably Scandinavian. The place is open every night of the week too, bar Sundays, so there's every chance to go and get involved in some of their events Nordic Bar, especially during the early part of the week, when the bar opens at an eye-wateringly early 5pm - to catch those who are just leaving work, and Fridays, when the bar stays open until 2am.
If we add to this the food and drink - then you get the feel for what this place is all about - there is of course the traditional smorgasbord, and open sandwiches to try - but have a little nibble on the Rost Biff, for a Scandinavian take on a very English Roast Beef dish.
Then there's the drinks menu - which feature a lot of Nordic themed cocktails, with names such as Nordic Frost and the Snowball to tempt the taste buds. Should you not feel in the cocktail mood - try a Briska cider for something a bit the same, but a bit different.
Don't forget though - finding your way back home when you leave is up to you...
