While this restaurant's venue may have overseen changes in ownership, it continues to impress. In my first year of university, this Byres Road venue was colloquially known as "the crepe place", and was a regular pitstop on the way to and from the campus. The crepe place has since changed hands, becoming , but continues to serve excellent crepes, as well as a host of other new additions. Open until 11pm, it is perfect for satisfying a late-night craving for sugar.
While their doughnuts and crepes are what usually draw me inside, I went this time with my friend for a more savoury lunch. I had the BBQ pulled pork nachos and a Fruit Salad smoothie, and my friend had a BLT ciabatta with lentil soup and a Berry Boost Smoothie.
The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was at that moment quite busy organising some kind of photo shoot for a very large cheese sandwich of theirs, so it was understandable. The staff were extremely helpful, even suggesting that my friend change her order from a baguette to a ciabatta so that more toppings would fit.
While I enjoy all the food, I always rave about the smoothies. If you're on Byres Road - on one of those rare sunny Glasgow days - I seriously recommend grabbing a Nic's smoothie and sauntering into the Botanic Gardens.
