I recently visited Newtons for the first time and was instantly impressed. A business run by two brothers, it has a local community feel and combine traditional with the modern. They both are clearly very passionate about their food.



Newtons, certainly sets itself apart from other pub come restaurants I have recently visited. The vibe is laid back and cosmopolitan, and despite the food being quite pricey, don't let that put you off as it is far from pretentious.

The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, making fabulous recommendations on the wine, they even had a good vegetarian selection which were very impressed with! The decor is relaxed and stylish, with a intimate dining area, chilled bar area complete with open fire (although we visited in the summer!) and outside terrace area.

To start we ordered too old fashioned cocktails, before happy hour ended, which were much stronger than I had expected! We then ordered a bottle of wine to go with a scallop starter and chicken burger main. We didn't quite make it to dessert although the selection was superb.





After dinner we moved outside to a little terrace at the front, despite being right next to the road it was still quiet with fresh flowers on each table which was really cute.

This sleek eatery is certainly a date-worthy venue and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. I'd highly recommend a visit.
