Unlucky in the Olympic ticket lottery? Want something a little bit different? Fancy some free music or a parkour workshop? Have a look at some of the events and activities at the National Theatre this summer - there is something for everyone at the Inside Out summer festival.

There is heaps to choose from here, with more events still to be announced for July and August, most of it free, with several strands to the festival including Watch This Space performances, Take Part workshops (worth booking for) and Behind the Scenes open rehearsals and exhibitions.

Watch This Space events take place on the gorgeously lush and phoney astroturf lawn, with matching outsize furniture, outside the National Theatre on London's South Bank. Bring a picnic, get there early for a good spot and enjoy the buzz.

A few events have a charge, but most are free. Here is just a glimpse of what's on offer - check out the National Theatre website for more information over the coming weeks.

1. Watch high-wire action with aerial theatre company Ockham's Razor.

2. Free music with The Barbirolli Quartet.

3. Jive and swing band, and Britain's Got Talent semi-finallists, The Jive Aces.

4. War Horse magic: puppetry workshops for ages 6 and an exhibition about the staging of War Horse in the Lyttleton.

5. Learn about stage combat and terrify your parents afterwards, also for ages 6.

6. You couldn't make it up: let The Mobile Sewing Company personalise your clothes with their people-on-bicycle-powered vintage sewing machine.
