Hundreds of channels and not a damn thing on.' This is a frequent quote at our house, and no doubt many others. Despite the wealth of channels, there is rarely something I can find that I want to watch.

Occasionally, however, something special makes its way to the small screen; something that deserves recognition. That's what The National Television Awards are for. This year on the 23rd January, the NTA will be held at the O2 arena, with special guest performances and red carpet glamour, it's a night not to miss.

See the actors of dramas like Downtown Abbey, root for the Doctor from Doctor Who, and cheer on your favourite X-Factor and Strictly Come Dancing. There will also be the ever on-going soap battle between Coronation Street and EastEnders. As well as celebrating excellent television, there will be a special presentation for our Olympic and Paralympic champions.

The show starts at 6.30pm and tickets costs between 22.50-117.50.
