With the TV drama
Nashville returning to our screens on the Sky Living channel viewers will once again be wishing they could visit the famous
Bluebird Café . Some will achieve that ambition and take a trip to America's Music City but most will just continue to dream. The good news is that three Nashville-based musicians will recreate the sound and spirit of the Bluebird Café during a UK tour that includes a show on September 12 at Birmingham's
Kitchen Garden Café .
Nashville In The Round features
Sarah Darling ,
Jenn Bostic and
Kyshona Armstrong (pictured above), each recording artists in their own right but coming together for an evening of songs from the Music City.
Sarah Darling
Though new to most UK ears, Sarah Darling is no stranger to the music industry. A well-known name in Tennessee, the Nashville-based singer-songwriter has years of experience as a songwriter and a performer behind her.
Since moving to Nashville at the age of 19, Sarah has supported stadium-fillers like Carrie Underwood, Kacey Musgraves, Vince Gill and Tim McGraw, accumulated over a million downloads and performed at the legendary Grand Ole Opry over 80 times. With US radio successes under her belt, including singles
Home to Me and
Little Umbrellas, the Iowa native has solidified her place as one of country music's breakout performers. This year she performed at the C2C festival, appearing on the BBC Radio 2 stage at Indigo at the O2. Her single,
You Take Me All The Way, is released on September 16, with her transatlantic debut album,
Dream Country, set for release spring , 2017.
Jenn Bostic
Nashville-based singer songwriter Jenn Bostic recently released her new album,
Faithful, having gained acclaim for her debut long player,
Jealous. Jenn's 2012 breakout track,
Jealous Of The Angels, written about the loss of her father, had viral success, amassing over two million views on YouTube. She went on to win five Independent Country Music Association Awards and was invited to perform the track at the Grand Ole Opry. She was also the first international independent artist to have three singles playlisted at Radio 2.
Kyshona Armstrong
Former music therapist Kyshona moved to Nashville in January 2014, spending the first couple months commuting back to Athens in her home state of Georgia to record her album,
Go. She had begun singing, songwriting and playing acoustic guitar to help in her job of helping schoolchildren and patients in hospitals express themselves musically. In Nashville she soon landed bookings on the local folk singer-songwriter, pop and soul scenes, using her experience as a therapist to inspire her songs.
