How can an engineer that worked on the London underground and ex teacher, create the most delicious gluten free desserts that are married up with the worlds 'best' coffee? I know that you know that I would never say that lightly.

While traveling through the UK, south of Kent and on my way back from too much booze in Brighton and, driving a Fiat Mini (never again) I was hungry and thirsty, so I stopped in East Grinstead and found .

It was after 5pm, dark and cold and when all other cafes decided that they were closed. "Just an espresso" I'd called out without success. I was going to pop into the pub across the road for an, I'm almost certain, disgusting cup of coffee when I saw the lovely pastel colours of '' I was delighted that they let me in as it looked as though they were about to close. "Oh, our doors are always open" said Trevor, a gorgeous Russell Crowe look alike……mmmm.

That was my ding, ding, ding Jackpot number 1, the Sunflower on every table was jackpot number 2 and then, well then he brought me an adorable cup with a divine, steaming espresso while I searched through the menu. Yes, you guessed it, Jackpot number 3.

Ever heard of a fourth Jackpot….well wait, there's more.."Anything in the Gluten Free persuasion" I asked. To my delight, his wife Kathryn, the ex school teacher, made all of the gluten free desserts on the premises.

Starting with a delicious croissant to a Victoria sponge and a caramel slice, I couldn't fit any more in but there was so, so much more.

They informed me that they specialised in gluten free desserts because there was such a large demand for it. Everything was served on lovely, quaint gold rimmed floral plates, something Grandma would serve you a biscuit on.

Just past the Blue Bell Express, a tiny little village lives an amazing little cafe that blew me away. Not only with the food but the service was something we rarely get to experience at closing time. The prices, super cheap - seriously, 1 pound for an espresso and 2.95 for a piece of cake!! Where else does that happen outside of Asia?

Seriously folks, give it a go, there's nothing like the English countryside and to find at the other end is a bonus.
