The Beatles as bandits? Michael Jackson as Marilyn Monroe? Kate Moss as Queen Elizabeth I? It looks like Mr. Brainwash is mashing up our pop culture icons once again. Eccentric LA based artist Theirry Guetta, otherwise known as Mr. Brainwash, is putting on his first solo show in London titled Life is Beautiful.

Since appearing in 2010's Exit the Gift Shop, controversy has surrounded Guetta's credibility, with claims that he is part of an elaborate hoax orchestrated by Banksy himself. Whether one believes that to be factual, the show is worth a look for pop culture fans.

Located in the Old Sorting Office on New Oxford Street, the 40,000 sq.ft. industrial relic offers up a gritty space to exhibit a wide array of Mr. Brainwash's sculptures, screen prints, murals, original works and installations. Style wise the works appears to be paying homage to Warhol with flourishing of Banksy touches.

Incentives were offered to the first 250 who visited the show, with a reward of a free print. But all is not lost as entrance is free, with posters and post cards as bounty for your efforts. However, one needs to act quickly as the exhibit is running just till August 31st 2012.
