In 2015 I compiled a
list of ideas for Mother's Day gift inspiration. It's hard to believe that a whole year has flown by and that Mother's Day 2016 is already nearly here. Over the past year, I have become a mother for the second time, so for me, the gift of an uninterrupted night's sleep and a lie-in are top of my list. However, seeing as that wish is unlikely to come true (not this year anyway), here's what else I'd be happy to receive on the morning of March 6th:
1. THE UNMUMSY MUM BOOK
I started following The Unmumsy Mum (aka Sarah Turner's) blog several months ago after receiving a lot of recommendations from fellow mums. Rather than sugarcoat motherhood (as a lot of blogs do), Sarah focuses on the highs
and the lows of being a mum, which clearly struck a chord with many as she received a book deal off the back of it.
The Unmumsy Mum book was released earler this month and is sure to be a great read for any mother who has young children.
2. MOTHER SWEATSHIRT
It's well-known that we new mums like to 'slum it' in leggings and baggy jumpers, but that doesn't mean we can't be trendy at the same time.
Selfish Mother has a fab range of slogan sweatshirts and t-shirts and, with all profits going to a charity that helps women in war-torn countries, you're supporting a great cause too.
3. FLORAL STATEMENT NECKLACE
What could be better for a Mother's Day gift than two of a girl's favourites - flowers and jewellery - combined!
Tatty Devine has brought out a lovely collection of floral delights, including the simple buttercup above, just in time for Mother's Day.
4. SHEEPSKIN SLIPPERS
Stay-at-home mums need something comfy to stay at home in, and a pair of fluffy sheepskin slippers are about as comfy as it gets. These ones from
Just Sheepskin come in a range of lovely colours and patterns to suit all tastes.
5. CHOC ON CHOC CHOCOLATES
Chocolate in any form is welcome when you're a tired mother, but
Choc on Choc's selection are truly delicious. I especially like these life-size ice lollies that have been added to their chocolate collection.
6. SOME PAMPERING TIME
A massage, a pedicure, a trip to the hairdressers or an hour at the spa. Some precious 'me-time' would be the ultimate gift for a worn-out mum this Mother's Day.
Hopefully some of my ideas will give you the inspiration needed for your 2016 Mother's Day gift. Combine one or more of the above with breakfast in bed and you're on to a winner!
